Justin Carney is a Martial Arts Tricking athlete and instructor who works with people of all ages to help them gain confidence by learning sweet tricks.
Justin believes that becoming proficient in something as hard as tricking will gain any individual confidence in other facets of their lives.
Martial Arts Instructing - 12 years
Justin has instructed karate at American Karate Center in Ellington (2006 - 2018) and has been training in American Kenpo with Eliud Sanchez for 25 years. During this time, Justin competed full time between 2000 and 2002 to achieve state and national titles.
Tricking Instructing - 8 years
Justin began a basic tricking program out of American Karate Center, and then quickly moved it to the East Windsor gym in 2012. Over the last 8 years, he has created and refined the TDX Tricking Curriculum with the help of Melissa Basch among others.
Power Rangers Live Performance - 5 years
Justin became an on call performer for PR in 2014 and has made appearances at NY ComiCon, Make A Wish, and The White House Easter Egg Roll.
Stunt Performer - 5 years
Justin has been doing fighting shorts since 2013, and has worked on Hulu's "Castle Rock", Netflix's "The Society" and the feature film "Ava" with Jessica Chastain.
Ballroom Dancing - 1.5 years
Justin trained and taught 12 styles of dance at Arthur Murray Dance Studios. He competed with his wife Tricia with Waltz, Rumba and Cha-Cha.
Hardcore Metal Band - 3 years
Justin was the front man for the CT metal band Ashen Totality between 2003 - 2006. The band was known for high energy, screaming, and the occasional back flip off the bass drum.
Other cool stuff
Justin is a 5th Degree Black Belt, 26 years of martial arts, was a 2x New England Champion in Forms and Weapons divisions, 10x Red Ranger, Bronze Level Ballroom Dancer, and is equipped with an 8 year Bachelor's Degree in Management.
